Designing Hand Quilting Motifs Workshop at Smith's General

The right quilting motif can turn a quilt into something truly special. In this class, we'll discuss how to design a high-contrast quilting motif for your next project, and learn some fundamental design techniques to consider when planning a hand quilting motif. Students should bring a finished quilt top that they would like to hand quilt (mini quilt, crib or throw size recommended), as well as preferred thread, needle, and basic sewing tools. Additional needles thread will be available for purchase, and rulers and marking tools will be provided.

Please arrive a few minutes early to class for set-up. There is on-street parking in front of the shop for loading and unloading. If you continue past our shop heading west on Main Street, there is a public parking lot diagonally across from Handy's Market. You can access this lot by either turning left or continuing straight at the traffic light.
